The Edo State Governor has finally met with the 23 year old widow, Mrs Joy Ifije that he told "If you are widow, go and die" in Benin. Governor Adams Oshiomhole donated N2 million to the woman and and an automatic employment. His words: "Let me apologise to you for the way I spoke to you, I am very sorry about the statement. I have also realised that even in anger, one could still achieve the same result that he set out to without provocative outburst. I apologise from the bottom of my heart, but sometimes you get angry when people compromise your efforts.’’ The donation came after the donation of N250,000 by the PDP, Edo state chapter. We thank those who joined in one voice to condemn the appauling utterance of the governor. You voice made Governor to have a re-think and u-turn in inviting and personally apologising to the young widow. This is not only about Oshiomhole, but to all the elected and government officials who see ordinary Nigerians as nothing.
