Aero Contractors airline has given a reason why one of its planes made a mid-air u-turn while on a trip to Doula, Cameroon, from Lagos.
The airline’s spokesperson, Simon Tumba, said on Friday that the aircraft made an air return, as a result of a sensor alarm noticed on the flight deck.
In a statement in Lagos, Mr. Tumba said the Aero flight AJ 2002 flying between Lagos and Douala, Cameroon, on Friday afternoon had an air return, as a result of a sensor alarm noticed by the flight crew on the flight deck.
“Following strict safety standard procedures, our flight crew decided to abort the flight,” the statement said.
The spokesperson, however, said that the problem had been fixed, while the airline management awaits the approval of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, to commence the use of the aircraft.
