How did the rumours that you dated Lagbaja affect your relationship?

Ego: We were just making fun of them and laughing about the rumours.

When I tell my driver that Tunji Okusanya of MIC is dead, I envision he will say, 'ah! man daada to ma'n fun mi l'owo yen!'(dat generous man!).

How Agagu’s in-law jumped out of burning plane

An eyewitness who works at the Murtala International Airport has revealed that two of the survivors of the Thursday plane crash in Lagos escaped death by jumping out of the plane minutes before it went up in flames.

Pleading for anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the incident, the middle age man, who works for Sahara Energy, said he was close by when the accident occurred.

He disclosed that he saw the plane tilt towards one side while in the air before it came down with a loud noise. (Sahara Energy where the eyewitness works is close to the site of the crash).

“The company I work for is very close to the site of the crash. I saw the plane tilt towards one side and I perceived the pilot was trying to avoid landing in a depot full of fuel close by. I think this was a great and timely decision because if the plane had landed on the depot the ensuing disaster would definitely be more than what we saw.

Saudi-Bound Jet Makes Emergency Landing In Sokoto As Tyres Explode Mid-Air

                        
A Saudi bound Kabo Air plane carrying 400 passengers from Kano made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar III international Airport in Sokoto early today.

Boeing 747 jumbo jet left Kano on Friday en route to Saudi Arabia had to divert to Sokoto after several of its tyres exploded immediately after it took off the Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano.

All the passengers aboard the airline have been evacuated from the plane and lodged in a hotel in the ancient city.

Panic in DC after female driver with a child rammed barricades outside the White House

 A woman rammed her car into a White House barricade and then raced toward Capitol Hill, all with a one-year-old child in the back seat, before she was gunned down by Secret Service agents and Capitol Police officers.

The bizarre incident put the White House and Capitol Hill briefly on lock-down as
officers swarmed the scene with assault rifles and hundreds of staffers and tourists fled in terror or took shelter in buildings at the political heart of Washington D.C. 

Multiple news outlets are reporting the woman was Miriam Carey, a 34-year-old dental hygienist from Stamford, Connecticut. She was not armed, but repeatedly rammed law enforcement officers and squad cars with her black Infiniti luxury sedan while racing at speeds up to 80mph.

Despite the location of the incident, authorities say they do no believe Carey had any connection to terrorism and they called the event 'isolated.'

Officers and federal agents fired at least 15 shots, before killing her within sight of the Capitol Building, just behind the U.S. Supreme Court.

World Bank To Invest $1 Billion In Nigeria’s Power Sector

The World Bank has decided to invest in Nigeria’s power sector with the sum of $1 billion.

This grant is expected to accelerate the post privatisation process of the power sector.

The international finance corporation, a member of the World Bank says it will make long term loan financing available to the sector because of the potentials it presents.

This amount is to be shared among three distribution and generation companies that won the privatisation bid.

IFC is set to provide financing to mobilize funds for one power generation company and also planning to invest in another power generation company, with further plans to support up to three power distribution companies. These projects will add 1, 500 MW to Nigeria’s grid and are part of the World Bank Group’s intervention in the sector, which is built into the Group’s Energy Business Plan.

Plane crashes in Lagos(Conveying 20 passengers & corpse of Late Ondo State Gov.Agagu)

It is confirmed that the plane crash announced this morning was an Akure bound aircraft belonging to Associated Airline.
The chattered flight had passengers who were billed to attend the funeral of Ondo State’s former Governor, Dr Olusegun Agagu. The passengers included the former Governor’s family members. There are reports that Deji, son of Chief Olu Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation was also on the plane which was believed to be carrying the remains of the late former Governor.

Fellow Nigerians,

1. Today marks 53 years of our Independence as a nation. First and foremost, I would like to say congratulations to us all. Through thick and thin, we have built this country together. Through triumphs and trials, we have developed a Nigerian identity in our own way.

2. In truth, Nigeria is still a work in progress and we are challenged everyday to keep building in spite of the various obstacles that we face. Our strength has been in our diversity. If we look back over the years, we can say confidently that there is every reason to celebrate.

3. Today's Independence anniversary is unique because it is the last before we mark our centenary. On January 1, 2014, Nigeria will be 100 years old as a country, following the amalgamation of the Protectorates of Southern and Northern Nigeria in 1914.

It is now a trend..Police nab three teenage stowaways at Lagos airport

The Airport Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested three teenagers for allegedly attempting to illegally board some international flights in Lagos.

Commissioner of Police for the command, Salahu Waheed, said the suspects, Lateef Popoola, 13; Amadi Joshua, 14; and Ukpabio Onyedikachi, 14, were arrested at different times at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja.

Waheed, while handing over the suspects to their mothers, said there was a need for their respective state governments to rehabilitate them like the Edo State Government did with teenage stowaway, Daniel Ihekina, who was arrested on August 24, 2013 after sneaking into the tyre compartment of a Lagos-bound Arik plane.

He said, “These boys were found at different times at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Their aim was to get into any plane and travel out of Nigeria.

“I decided to hand them over to their parents so they will be well taken care of and stop dwelling on the fantasy that you can just come into the airport, enter a plane and travel.

“Their state governments should try to rehabilitate them just like Edo State did for the stowaway in Benin.

“Lateef Popoola is from Ogun State; Amadi Joshua is from Ebonyi while Ukpabio Onyedikachi is from Abia State.

“The airport is not a place that you can just come into and travel. There are formalities. We don’t want to see these children here again.”
