The gold plated iPhone5 photo circulating online is fake!

In a statement by Reno Omokri, Special Assistant (New Media) to the President said;
Let me make it clear that President Goodluck Jonathan is a simple man who has ensured that all independence anniversary celebrations under his watch have been low key inexpensive events in keeping with his policy of avoiding wasteful expenditures.
These stories and others like it are sponsored by those who would like to distract President Jonathan from the task of Transformation of which he has committed himself and this administration. It is a disservice to all of us if we sit back while these disgruntled elements get away with lies without exposing them and their cohorts.

Governor Fashola apologizes to the Igbos over destitude deportation

Governor Fashola tendered his apology at a ceremony to mark the Silver Jubilee anniversary of Aka Ikenga, an Igbo social-cultural group in Lagos. He said:
“The truth is that I do not have a problem with the Igbos, they know that because the largest herd of cattle I received during my father’s burial came from the Ndigbo. Those people who came under their many colours are not people I have a problem with, they are my kindred and my people. Also, there were people who did not clearly understand me and they have misunderstood words said or misrepresented actions taken in the way that it has pleased them to do so. To those people, I owe an explanation, not a defence of what has happened and that is partly why I am here.

“We have built a relationship based on tolerance, mutual respect, trust and love. That relationship was started by our ancestors, it was handed over to us and we have nourished it with a lot of trust, with a lot of understanding and with a lot of fidelity.

“Those who misunderstand that relationship, think that there is no value in that relationship, I have come here to correct that because I place a lot of value on that relationship. If those people have misunderstood me or they have misunderstood actions taken by our government, here, now and today, I offer an unqualified and unreserved apology."

Ronaldo pleads for hug-fan charges to be dropped

Cristiano Ronaldo has written a letter to Miami's District Attorney asking for trespass charges to be dropped against a fan who ran on to the pitch to hug him.
Real Madrid star Ronaldo humoured 20-year-old fan Ronald Gjoka when he invaded the field of play at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami during a friendly match with Chelsea on August 7.
The incident resulted in an internet sensation, as the fan spent quite some time clinging on to his hero, who happily obliged as security staff panicked around him. But the student was arrested and charged with trespass and disorderly conduct, which could see him expelled from college and deported back to his native Albania.

Uche Jombo Rodriguez And Kcee On The Cover Of The Redsheet Mag

I’m no longer bothered by criticism – Rukky Sanda

In her recent interview with Punch Newspapers, the actress fires back to her critics .....

“I really don’t know where all that comes from and I hardly ever see it. But I think it is because I’m reserved. I have to be in my comfort zone to talk about it. It is bad, but it has helped me become the woman I am today. I can’t really complain because people will always express their opinion about you and judge you. L          ife is designed that way. So I’m cool.
“Sometimes, people do not know what I’m doing because I am silent about it. I don’t like to make noise about stuff like this. So when I do anything, they start wondering what I am up to. I guess I’ll never know. I’m really anti-social and that is why people mistake my silence for arrogance,”

Kenyan president says mall siege is over: Five terrorists dead

Statement: Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta said that the country had 'ashamed and defeated' its attackers

Kenya's President tonight announced that his country had 'ashamed and defeated' its attackers following the siege on a Nairobi mall that has left 61 civilians and six security officers dead.
Three floors of the Westgate shopping centre collapsed towards the end of the operation by security forces, five alleged terrorists have been killed and there were still at least three bodies in the rubble.
Uhuru Kenyatta - who also declared three days of national mourning - said: ‘Fellow Kenyans, we have been badly hurt and feel great pain and loss - but we have been brave, united and strong.’

He said there were 11 alleged terrorists now in custody, adding: ‘Kenya has stared down great evil and triumphed… We have shamed and defeated our attackers. That part of our task was completed.'
For clarity, Mr Kenyatta said the attack had left 240 casualties, including 61 dead civilians and six of his security forces, adding that five terrorists were killed and another 11 suspects are in custody.

Turai Yar’adua’s “greed” cause of Abuja land dispute with Patience Jonathan

A protracted land dispute between first lady, Patience Jonathan, and her predecessor, Turai Yar’adua, would have been unnecessary if Mrs. Yar’adua had not, with the help of a former FCT minister, Adamu Aliero, cornered a government plot to herself, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report today.
Months after an Abuja High court ruled on the contentious plot, located in the Central Business District of Abuja, in Mrs. Yar’adua’s favour, PREMIUM TIMES has received testimonies from former senior members of the Umaru Yar’adua administration, and has reviewed a document, indicating that the plot was originally allocated for the construction of an office for the African First Lady Peace Mission, AFLM, as Mrs. Jonathan argued in court.
One senior member of that government, well informed about the allocation, said Mrs Yar’adua’s decision to retain the plot for her personal project against the initial plan, triggering months of legal spat with the current first lady, smacked of “greed”.

Massacre mall is now ablaze after Islamic terrorists 'blow themselves up'.

Islamic terrorists who have been barricaded in a Kenyan shopping mall today threatened to kill all their remaining hostages as special forces moved in to end the two day siege which has left 69 dead. Witnesses said they heard this morning multiple large explosions within the vast Westgate Shopping Centre in Nairobi and there were reports of gunfire in the streets outside. Thick black smoke was then seen billowing from the mall.
